Tom Cotter is a fourth-generation farmer from southern Minnesota. Although he grew up doing full tillage on all his family’s acres, their soil health journey began in the 90's and slowly progressed to where they are today: a certified Clean Water Farm!

Ozaukee County Land and Water and the Clean Farm Families are hosting an insightful Soil Health Workshop featuring esteemed speaker Tom Cotter, a fourth-generation farmer from southern Minnesota. Raised in a family dedicated to traditional full tillage practices, Tom embarked on a transformative soil health journey in the 1990s. Under his stewardship, the family's farm has evolved into a certified Clean Water Farm, emphasizing sustainability and biodiversity. Tom's expertise includes planting cover crops, raising grass-fed beef, alongside cultivating a diverse range of crops such as corn, soybeans, sweet corn, peas, alfalfa, and oats. Participants will gain valuable insights into practical strategies for enhancing soil health and sustainable farming methods.
